Honda of Ocala hosts another well attended Ocala Marion Chamber of Commerce After Hours

General Manager of Honda of Ocala Tom Moore yet again opened the doors of his dealership to more than 200 Ocala Marion Chamber of Commerce members and guests this past Thursday July 19, 2012.

The event included food and beverage and was yet again another great opportunity for members of the Ocala business community to fellowship and network in one of Ocala's finest dealership facilities.

Honda of Ocala employees always relish the opportunity to meet new Ocala residents but also to provide a productive community environment.

It also was another opportunity to exhibit Honda of Ocala's ongoing Honda Civic Facebook contest. Honda of Ocala will be using their Facebook page to interact within the community while keeping all aware of all community involvement and promotions. http://www.facebook.com/HondaOfOcala/  

It's also a great opportunity for Honda of Ocala to identify needs within the community. Here (General Manager of Honda of Ocala) is pictured with members of the local VFW post. Honda of Ocala "Perfect Attendance" Winner takes delivery of new Civic!

Congratulations to our Honda of Ocala “Perfect Attendance Senior” car winner Emma Derricks. She took delivery of her brand new 2012 Honda Civic today. To all our Marion County Seniors who achieved perfect attendance this year, Honda of Ocala wants to acknowledge your spirit of determination and commitment to your education.


Honda of Ocala is proud of those young people that are setting the example for others, everyday in our Marion County classrooms. Great job!

Honda of Ocala loses in Semi-Final of MAG HHF Basketball Tournament for Charity

On July 15, 2012 the Morgan Auto Group hosted their 5th Annual Charity Basketball Tournament to benefit the Helping Hand Fund (an employee emergency relief fund).

The tournament boasted ten teams from our car stores and affiliated companies: Highway Safety Devices, Brandon Honda, Honda of Ocala, Honda of Gainesville, Wade Raulerson Buick GMC, Ford of Port Richey, Creative Sign Designs, BMW of Sarasota/MINI of Wesley Chapel, Toyota of Tampa Bay and Moore & Scarry Advertising.

Highway Safety Devices overcame a 1st half deficit of 15 points to take the championship, overcoming a very strong Brandon Honda team that had blown past Ford of Port Richey and Honda of Ocala.

Honda of Gainesville fell in the other semi-final game to Highway Safety Devices.

Authorized Free Agent Tanner Boyle was acquired by Ford of Port Richey for a $1000 dollar donation but then sold to Highway Safety Devices (who were playing with only five men) for another $500 dollar donation.

The tournament for the first time was moved from Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL to the Long Center where three games could be played simultaneously. Each team was guaranteed at least two games (win or lose) and many teams (those who had play in games) ended up going 3 games.

Honda of Ocala Hosts Soap Box Derby

This past Saturday, March 31st Honda of Ocala hosted the Marion District Boy Scout Troop and their annual 2012 Pinewood Derby. All levels of the troop were involved: Tigers, Wolves, Bear Scouts and Webelos. The races were fast paced and very exciting including a finish decided by 1/10th of a millimeter! Something new for this year’s contest was the “Best in Show” category; onlookers were able to vote for the best looking car and the winner received a trophy. The event was a great success and Honda of Ocala has committed already to hosting the 2013 event with the hopes of creating an annual dealership event.

Honda of Ocala Recognizes Perfection: Rewards Students Perfect Attendance

Honda of Ocala Recognize Perfection in Marion County Schools

Both Honda of Ocala and Toyota of Tampa Bay are high performing dealerships. Each store recognizes that to accomplish goals and work at a high level you need dependable and consistent associates.  In today’s society there are doubts as to the quality of the education available in our schools in a period where our kids have more distractions and temptations that ever. That’s why the Morgan Auto Group in Marion and Hillsborough Counties has decided to acknowledge students who have shown consistency in their classroom attendance.

In May and June Toyota of Tampa Bay (Hillsborough County) and Honda of Ocala (Marion County) partnered with their local school boards to recognize those students with perfect attendance. For those students who completed K-12 with perfect attendance Toyota of Tampa Bay recognized them with Toshiba Laptops and Honda of Ocala with Apple iPad’s. All students who completed their Senior year with perfect attendance were then placed into a drawing to win either a brand new Honda Civic in Ocala or a new Scion at Toyota of Tampa Bay. 

Emma Derricks from West Port High was Honda of Ocala’s winner of a brand new 2012 Honda Civic and Toyota will be picking their winner during a large dealership event on Saturday June 16^th.
